On arrival you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the operators of Compass Campers Germany. Here is a summary of the terms and conditions:
Definitions
The following definitions apply for the Terms and Conditions for Compass Campers Germany.
- The Supplier means the operator of Compass Campers Germany.
- The Client is also referred to as the renter(s) and/or hirer(s)
General information
Please note that a vehicle group can have different vehicle types. Only a vehicle group can be reserved, not a certain vehicle within this group.
The renter has to show his passport and his current driver's license when he picks up the vehicle.
Please note that the vehicle groups F and H require a driver's license with a total permissible weight of over 3.5 tons!
A special authorization is needed if clients wish to travel to Eastern European states. This authorization has to be signed in the station when they pick up the vehicle.
The entry to the following countries is allowed without authorization:
Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland
The entry to the following countries is allowed only with authorization:
Albania, Andorra, Bosnia-Herzegowina, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Iceland, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republik, Ukraine, Hungary, Belarus, Cyprus
The entry to the following countries is FORBIDDEN:
Iran, Israel, Morocco, Moldova, Tunisia, Turkey
For countries not listed here please ask on request.
Please note that it can be more difficult to get help in case of an accident or technical problems when clients travel to Eastern European or Non-European countries.
The opening hours of depots are as follows:
From January 2008 to March 2008 and October 2008 to December 2008: Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
From April 2008 to September 2008: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
From April 2008 to September 2008: Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The opening hours of head office are as follows:

From April 2008 to September 2008: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The pick up and drop off times in depots are as follows:
From January 2008 to March 2008 and October 2008 to December 2008: Monday to Friday: pick up from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. - drop off from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
From April 2008 to September 2008: Monday to Friday: from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. - drop off at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
From April 2008 to September 2008: Saturday: pick up and drop off at 10 a.m. (58.82 Euro exclude VAT surcharge will be applied for Saturday pick up or drop off)
If clients wish to pick up in the morning or drop off in the afternoon, supplier will charge one extra day each.
The detailed explanation and demonstration on the use of the vehicle will take about 1 hour. The explanation of the motorhome by is only possible in German or English.
Maps or road maps cannot be supplied by the operators of Compass Campers
Transportation to and from the rental depots cannot be provided.
Taxi costs are not refundable.
The security deposit of EUR 1.200,00 can be paid with credit card (no American Express, no Diners) when the client picks up the vehicle or can be transferred to the supplier's account with the rental amount. It is possible to pay with either VISA or Mastercard.
The security deposit will be refunded to the credit card account of the client by the supplier's head office. This process can take up to 10-14 days for organizational reasons.
All the vehicles have to be returned at the time specified in the rental contract with full diesel tank. The vehicles also have to be returned in the same clean condition (inside and toilet) as they were delivered to the client.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the head office of supplier.
Payment.
A booking deposit fee is taken from you nominated credit card to secure the booking at time of Booking confirmation. The remainder of payment will be gathered from your nominated credit card 35 days prior to the pick up. Please ensure that the funds are available on your card at this time, otherwise the reservation expires automatically and the vehicle will be released for other reservations.
Payment of some components of the total sale will be made directly to your local depot location at the time of vehicle pick up. This will include payment of VAT Taxes or some physical optional extras like chairs and tables.
Cancellation
You booking deposit is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. Further to this the following cancellation clauses will apply:
If you cancel up until 53 days before pick up a further 10% of the remaining rental cost will be charged
If you cancel between 52 to 18 days before pick up: 50% of the remaining rental cost will be charged
If you cancel between 17 to 3 days before pick up: 80% of the remaining rental cost will be charged
If you cancel 2 days prior or do not show up for your rental 95% of the remaining rental cost will be charged
Additional charges may be applied to your rental:
Toilet Cleaning: 150 Euro per rental if necessary
Handling Charge: 20 Euro per amendment after a confirmed reservation
Diesel: 2.5 Euro per litre including service
Late return: 28 Euro per hour up to daily rate
Outside cleaning: no charge per vehicle
Inside cleaning: from 100 Euro per vehicle, if necessary
Please note: all prices for above additional charges include 19% VAT.

On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
